Awakening,

I see

A world of snow,

Each flake

Settling

Silently

Transforming countryside

And town,

The

Floating

Feathers

Of the sky

Make a

Blanket

Soft and

Deep

Each field

Each tree

Stay quiet

Stay still

Under Earth’s

White eiderdown

While underneath

The snowdrops

Sleep.
